"Ah, so you're Player, eh?" inquires a rather lively old man as you approach the Neuro-Training Booth. "The name's Ludwig, but everyone just calls me 'Old Man' now. Pleasure to meet you, young friend! Now...I heard that you're looking for some mastery skills unique to von Mises?"
When you nod, he grins and pats you vigorously on the back. "You've come to the right and wrong place, Player - sure, there's some interesting stuff to learn here...but only from the machines that I happen to have a monopoly on!"
Then a frown settles on his brow. "I'm sure you've seen your fair share of conflict, and it should come as little surprise to you to learn that violence begets violence. A rather unfortunate truth, but vital for the duties of the Station Master."
He turns away from you. "You see, Player, if you cannot defend what is yours, then others will simply take it from you - and there are more than enough pirates out there who are capable of doing exactly that. This is why, while learning Station Mastery won't line your pockets, it will augment your existing bases and drones and turn them into powerful guardians that can defend your assets and your allies."
Old Man Ludwig turns back to you. "You need to keep in mind that such a skill will only empower permanent drones and stations - bots aren't included in that bunch, nor are combat drones, and certainly not you."
"But, hey," he adds with a dry chuckle, "you can always charge your pals a little protection fee while they're cruising 'round under your nuclear blanket..."
