descriptionandrewards A tightly muscled man stands before you, holding a large hand-cannon and with a fixing stare. Fixing? Yeah, being pierced by glowing white eyes that are rumoured to be able to see through walls and even what you're thinking is a bit unnerving. You get the feeling that this guy doesn't muck around, and has probably seen more combat than most front line Earth Force pilots. Rumour is he fought against the UrQa during their first incursion, has run bounties way up into deep Perilous and hunted notorious pirates like Dark Curse down. "So, Player, I've heard you've been sniffing around looking to join the bounty-hunter division, eh? You want in with the Merchant Navy?" He pauses, looking you up and down with a slight frown and shake of the head. "Well, I'll tell you how we run things, and then it's up to you to make it work... or not. We run contracts from Earth Force, but unlike them, we're not here to babysit you or wipe your arse: contracts with us are wide open; we strip the usual Earth Force rank requirements off them, and reset them to something much lower. Yep, Player, that means you can easily pull something way outta your league: it's part of being a Dog ~ you can't handle something, you need the smarts to know you can't. So, if you pull something you can't handle, well... that's your sorry business. Free advice: make sure your insurance is up to date and your pod gets serviced before every contract. My lieutenants, Wulf Strongarm, Durham Red and The Gronk run parts of our operation: Wulf looks over the engineering and repairs side, Durham... well, she's PR and 'collections', and The Gronk patches up anyone who's too slow or stupid enough to get hurt." He looks straight... through you. "I run it, and I liaise with Earth Force. Every contract we run is legal, and sanctioned as part of keeping the Universe from descending into chaos: we do the stuff that Earth Force hasn't the man power or will power to do. And that means killing, a whole bunch of killing. Here you can get rich, or die trying. But before you get to see if you're even close to the standard the bounties I hand out require, you have to impress my lieutenants. Wulf is where we send the rookies, Red winnows down the herd and The Gronk looks after those doing proper dangerous work. So, what you need to do is get their approval: once you've got that, I hand out the good missions and the goodies. Oh, and we run two kinds of money in here: credits from the bounties, and an in-house system; I'd advise keeping those, as you'll find the special tweaks, items and weapons our crew holds are only obtainable using them." He throws you a waiver form with a DNA-taking thumbprint and a chip to mod into your ship's data ID. "If you want in, just sign the waiver with your DNA and mod your ship: all kills will get tagged with the Strontium Dog's kill code as well as yours, showing Earth Force who brought the bounty in. We'll get our share, you'll get yours." As you walk off, ID chip in hand and head full of ideas what you'll spend your riches on, he shouts after you: "Remember: Talk to me, and I'll point you to talk to Wulf first, then Red, then The Gronk; but I'm not going to do that until you can fly a little. Sure, we believe in allowing you to choose your own fights, but I'm sure as frak not going to let you embarrass us out there: so there's a minimum piloting skill for my introduction. Each will hand over a code once they're impressed, which I'll translate into Priority Target missions. Oh, and in about 10,000 kills, you might impress me...". You faintly hear his last comment... "Though, not many survive that long". Rewards:

wintext Johnny Alpha nods, taking the waiver. "Ok, Player, Earth Force has been notified your ship is with the Merchant Navy. Now get over to Wulf and start getting contracts under your belt. If you don't die, or burn out, I might see you around some time".
