You step into the Conclave, breathing in its sharp, cool air. As you walk into the shadowy halls, you hear an unfamiliar voice echoing in the distance.
"Player, you arrived... I was waiting for you," says the voice. Too late, you realize that the man-evidently a fellow Seer-had translocated behind you. His face is hidden underneath a thick, hooded cloak.
"You've let your guard down... Or have you forgotten Price's training?" he murmurs. You narrow your eyes and just manage to translocate behind him in response.
The man laughs. "Impressive, Player, it seems Price has trained you well." He steps out from the darkness and adds, "Although... you are still a little weak."
"My name is Leo Brenton," the Seer continues, "Not that I needed to tell you that. I've been doing some research into new ways a Seer can manipulate the scope of combat with something other than his mind. I also asked the Engineers at their workshop to help out, seeing as they were making breakthroughs in field generation technology." Leo Brenton starts to walk down the corridor.
"Walk with me, Player," he says, waving you over.
"So, we and the Engineers came up with a way of manipulating our allies, using specially designed lasers that transmit viruses into the target's systems. These are no ordinary viruses, however: They can affect the receiver both positively and negatively. The best way to describe this would be the results of Dr. Landegard Hilstrom's research, she predicted that there were both negative and positive viruses that could affect the human body, like the flu and luck, respectively. We took this idea and applied it to computer viruses, overloading various system circuitries to increase or decrease that ship's abilities! We just received a prototype to test a few days ago. I'll take the new laser and shoot a target drone that Blue Photon has supplied us; you will then destroy that drone. Although... you won't be able to take it out otherwise."

You dock back at Seer's Conclave. As you clamber out of your ship, Leo Brenton approaches you excitedly.
"Well, that worked marvelously, Player! With a few tweaks we can start producing more of these weapons! If you come back and see me, I can sell you some of our transmission lasers; the more powerful ones, however..." He sends you off with a grin.
